Artisan Nottinghamshire Stilton


Stilton is one of England’s most celebrated cheeses. While other cheeses make similar claims, Stilton is certainly one of the world’s most highly-esteemed blue cheeses. This particular Stilton is made by Cropwell Bishop in Nottinghamshire and has a rich meaty flavor, and a velvety-soft texture that melts in your mouth. Crafted carefully by hand, our Stilton is made using methods that have changed little since the 17th Century. Made with pasteurized milk and traditional rennet, the curd is hand ladled which produces a creamier, smoother texture. After four weeks of aging, the wheels of cheese are pierced and then aged an additional eight weeks. This allows for a hearty development of blue mold, and a bolder, richer flavor. This fantastic Stilton won Supreme Champion of the 2009 Nantwich International Cheese Show.
