Fontina comes from the Northern region of Val d’Aosta and is definitely one of the most popular Italian cheeses abroad. The taste of Fontina cheese is sharp and pungent, one of the main reasons for which it is appreciated by the lovers of strong cheeses. As a matter of fact, Fontina is made using a special creamy cow’s milk produced by the local pezzata nera and pezzata bruna cows, bred free in alpine pastures. Another feature of Fontina is that it is made with the milk from a single milking.
