Pecorino Crotonese


This excellent Pecorino Crotonese (sheep’s milk cheese) is produced by Fattoria della Piana, a cooperative dairy founded by farmers only from Calabria. The milk is collected daily from the various dairies situated in the Aspromonte Region, on Mount Poro, as well as on the plains of the Gioia Tauro and in the province of Crotone. The special sheep cheeses made by produced by Fattoria della Piana always respect traditional recipes and are processed using the modern technology. The result is a variety of very high quality artisanal cheeses, among them the cheeses from Vezzano and from Monte Poro. Pecorino Crotonese is a popular cheese from Crotone, which distinguishes itself for a stronger taste than other sheep cheese from the South of Italy.
