Pecorino Di Pienza Crosta Nera

It’s true that many varieties of Italian sheep’s milk cheese (or Pecorino) are famous around the world. Indeed, Pecorino di Pienza is one of the most renowned. Pienza is a fourteenth century town near Siena where this special full fat sheep’s milk is masterfully produced. The version we procure is a black rind cheese, a purely stylish addition. The milk used to produce this excellent Pecorino cheese is collected from local sheep bred in Val d’Orcia, an area in the bucolic rolling hills of the Crete Senesi. The result is a sweet and refined cheese with nutty notes that pairs perfectly with white wines, marmalade and honey. Organoleptic properties Aspect and texture: dense and firm paste with an ivory color. Taste: sweet and mild with flavors of fresh milk and lightly toasted nuts Serving suggestions Fruity white wines, lagers. Marmalade, honey Ingredients Pasteurized sheep’s milk, salt, traditional rennet, cultures, inedible wax black rind
